Music school students can develop their technical skills by means of a ‘game’ lasting throughout a year: this volume containing 52 pieces provides an etude for every week of the year. These short works are not dry finger exercises but well-rounded little compositions. A conscientious student who works through them all in the course of a year will find they offer help in solving every kind of technical problem. At the end of the volume a few more etudes, longer ones suitable for performance, are included by way of supplement.
