Perhaps the greatest of all composers for the organ, Bach brought characteristic invention, innovative harmony, and virtuosity to his compositions for that instrument. This volume contains 19 compositions, including such early works as the Fugue in C Minor on a Theme of Legrenzi, BWV 574, and the Fugue in B Minor on a Theme of Corelli, BWV 579, the important Passacaglia and Fugue in C Minor, BWV 582, and, of course, the extremely popular Toccata and Fugue in D Minor, BWV 565.
